Bacalar is an idyllic city located in a charming interior lagoon, immersed in nature, with the presence of colonial history and pirates!
We will embark on a sailboat to navigate through the fascinating waters of 7 different shades of blue. The contrasting hues make it a fabulous place to explore Bacalar's waterways, hidden history, and lush nature. This place will immediately make you feel happy and relaxed, and when sailing, the experience of being at peace is intensified, with a constant cool breeze providing a wonderfully natural alternative to noisy motor boats.
Our tour takes you through the famous channel used by pirates to attack the Spanish fort that is still on the shore of the lake and the island used by storks, herons and other water birds to nest throughout the year. We will look for some calmer places with beautiful waters to relax and swim. You will also be able to see one of the oldest life forms on our planet, the stromatolites, a so-called 'living fossil'.
This is a beautiful introduction to Bacalar, long considered an idyllic getaway for residents of the Yucatan Peninsula, which has recently begun to attract more interest due to its serenity. Take the opportunity to visit it while remaining wonderfully relaxed, and do it on a sailboat, where you will not only contribute to the conservation of this unique ecosystem, but you will experience it in a completely natural context, integrating with the elements.
